Celtic Rumours

Bobo’s injury has now finally ended any possibility of move to Aston Villa until the summer-2007. Bobo will definitely join O’Neill then.

Scot Brown - Our offer was accepted by Hibs a few days before Christams and our contract offer ‘unofficially’ accepted. The ball is in SBs court

Marshall/Beattie - one of them going to Hibs with the other one pondering over a loan move to Pittodrie.

Pearo and Thommo are definitely off in January to Derby and Sunderland.

John Kennedy-  coming back earlier than scheduled - maybe see him the bench in the not too distant future

Luis Figo turned down a move to Celtic last week, deciding to head out to Saudi Arabia instead.

Gary O’Connor-  rumoured for a loan or a permanent signing.

European striker is being monitored very closely, name has not yet been leaked but one will sign this month

Robert Kovac’s (Juve) short-term loan deal is still a very real possibility

Steve Simonsen - stoke keeper being monotored by Ray Clarke

RE: Celtic Rumous

Also we have matched Charlton and Sunderland bids for Anthony Stokes, so he could be a possobility.

Celtic have tabled a £2m bid for Arsenal striker Anthony Stokes. (The Sun/Daily Mirror)

RE: Celtic Rumous

latest on the brown/thomson transfer situation - if we get them then i dont think they will be first team this season - if lennon leaves then thomson could slot in - i woupld like o see big sno given an opportunity to stake a claim for lennons position!

Skysports.com understands Celtic have stepped up their interest in Hibernian duo Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson.

The Hibs pair are hoping to secure moves away from Easter Road after a contract dispute with the club.

Thomson and Brown were keen to sign new improved deals at the Edinburgh outfit, but Hibs were unwilling to meet their demands.

A number of clubs including Celtic and Rangers have expressed an interest in the midfield pair, but Hibs are hoping to keep hold of them until the end of the season at least.

However, the two players have publicly declared they would like to move to Celtic.

Celtic are thought to have tabled a double bid for the players last week and the SPL champions are believed to have increased their efforts to land the duo.

Bhoys chief executive Peter Lawwell is believed to be locked in talks with his Hibs counterpart Rod Petrie in a bid to thrash out a deal to bring Thomson and Brown to Parkhead before the close of the transfer window.

RE: Celtic Rumous

heres an interesting rumour which i hope becomes reality!!

Ireland captain Robbie Keane is heading to celtic in a shock loan deal for the rest of the season with a view to a permanent move in the summer the Irish mail on sunday can reveal .In a amazing u-trun by tottenham manger martin jol, the countrys record goal scorer will make the switch to scotland and also be available to Gordon strachan for the hoops forth coming champions league games against Ac milan. Keane although a life long celtic fan has previously resisted moving north of the border. He is still only 26 but celtic would be his sixth club in an eight year professional career has lacked stability . Keanes move to parkhead will be the latest in a long line of trasfers totalling £38 million and the second time in which the journey man has been put out on loan .

RE: Celtic Rumours

Very interesting Keltoi. This would be a superb move for Celtic. Rumours I have seen are:

Brown & Thompson: Strach wanted both and informed Hibs quite some time ago that he would like to be kept informed if any clubs put a bid in for one or both of the players as he sees their long term future at Celtic Park. Their change of agent to McKay only strengthened the Strach’s hand as he has a very good relationship with him. So much so that the ‘superagent’ has informed close friends for quite some time that Skoosh and Tommo would both be joining Celtic.

Now it’s only a matter of when and not if they join the Bhoys. WGS wanted Brown in just now and Tommo during the summer but his hand has been forced a little by Hibs and I hear that both will be Celtic players this month with with the Marsh going to Easter Road and possibly joined by Beattie.

RE: Celtic Rumours

yes, but there is not much competition at CP in the strikers role. Beatie wont make it at CP. He needs 2 seasons of reg football elsewhere. Cetic stuggling up front. Overall today, the quality pf Celtic prevailed. We did to you what UCL teams do to us, year after year. Leave aside conditions, the ref, who played better, you could almost have written the script. Its very hard to compete with the deep pockets of the old firm. Then, in europe, we become the minnows and the same thing happens to us. (will i write you the script for Milan tomorrow?)
